SUMMER 2005 MEETING MINUTES > >CuCGP meeting minutes for Thursday May 26,2005 at the South Vineland United >Methodist Church.In attendance:Jim Webster,Gregory Lee Lane,Nancy Harges >and Rich Raimonde. >630pm-Chair Lane calls the meeting to order.Lane briefly went over some >proposed bylaws changes.Raimonde read the meeting minutes into the >record.Raimonde called for approval of the minutes with a second from >Lane,minutes approved by unanimous consent. Lane gave a Treasurers Report >in leau of the absence of Helen Kalla.The treasury now stands at >$241.00.Lane asked to be appointed interim Treasurer of the CuCGP until >Kalla resumes her duties.Motion by Raimonde,second by Webster,motion >carried unanimously.Discussion ensued about the possibility of meeting on a >different day of the month in the future.It was tentatively decided to meet >on the third Tuesday of the month beginning in July. It was also decided we >would meet in July at the home of Elaine Marston in Millville.There was >discussion about rewriting the 10 key values and posssibly adopting the core principals of the England/Wales > Green Party. CuCGP meeting minutes for Thursday 6/23/05 at the South Vineland United Methodist Church at Main Road and Sherman Avenues in Vineland. In attendance:Nancy Harges,Gregory Lee Lane,Ken McGill and Rich Raimonde. 640pm-Chair Lane calls the meeting to order. Minutes from the 5/26/05 meeting were approved by unanimous consent with one amendment.Lane advised that the next meeting would be on Thursday July 21,2005 at the home of Elaine Marston at 1301 Goldfinch Lane in Millville beginning at 630pm.Lane said he would like to restore our meetings to the 3rd Thursday of each month. Discussion.Motion to restore was made by Lane,second by Ken McGill.Motion carried unanimous approval.Treasurer pro-temp Lane advised that we have $322.00 in the treasury.Treasury report was adapted by unanimous consent.Lane put forward the revised CuCGP bylaws for the memberships review.Discussion.Raimonde made a motion to adapt,second by McGill,motion carried unanimously.Discussion ensued about our October meeting which will celebrate our 5th anniversary. It was decided to pursue speakers,including those opposed to the Speedway as well as Ken McGills daughter who could contribute her expertise on renewable energy.Raimonde said he would look into getting the Vineland Libraby as a venue since that was the site of the very first meeting 5 years ago.Chair Lane advised that GPNJ gubernatorial candidate Matt Thieke would be avalable to speak at our August meeting and he would keep us posted.Lane passed around a tri-fold brochure he intends to distribute at the Cumberland Mall.This brochure outlined the core values of the GP which differentiate us from the Democrats and Republicans.This brochure will be used as an outreach recruiting tool of the CuCGP,and it was very well received by the membership for its professional appearance and effective writing.Pass the hat.Lane discussed the newly recieived voting machines which have been made available by the county for public events.Ken McGill asked how the CuCGP resolution in support of the lawsuit launched by Citizens United oppposing the Speedway was received by CU? Discussion.The consensus was that the resolution was well received.Discussion ensued about the need for additional fund raising to support political campaigns launched by the CuCGP this coming November.Raimonde suggested another flea market sale at Vinelands U-Sell in September and Lane said he would "get with" Raimonde regarding this possibility.Other fundraising possibilities were also discussed.835pm-Motion was made by Raimonde to adjourn,second by McGill.Motion carried unanimously.Rich Raimonde,CuCGP recording secretary. Cumberland County Green Party meeting minutes for Wednesday July 20,2005.Meeting held at the home of Elaine Marston,1301 Goldfinch Lane in Millville. In attendance:Gregory Lee Lane,Ken McGill,Elaine Marston,Rich Raimonde. 630pm-Chairman Gregory Lee Lane called the meeting to order.Lane asked Raimonde to read the meeting minutes from the 6/23/05 meeting into the record.Raimonde obliged.Discussion.Raimonde made a motion to accept the minutes,second by Ken McGill,motion passed unanimously.Treasurer Pro-Temp Lane distributed a Treasurers Report totally $347.00.Discussion.Coordinator Ken McGill asked some pointed questions which were clarified by Lane.Motion to approve by McGill,second by Lane,motion received unanimous approval. Discussion was then intiated by Lane regarding the venues for upcoming membership meetings. A number of options were discussed and it was decided to rotate between the Vineland venue at the Church (3rd Thursdays) and Elaine Marston's home in Millville (3rd Wednesdays) every other month.The subsequent meeting schedule has since been posted on the CuCGP website.Chair Lane then brought to discussion whether we should open a bank account for our Treasury Funds, under what title or name to do so and at what bank?Of the variety of local banks discussed the membership decided to open the account with Colonial Bank which is most convenient for Treasurer Pro-Temp Lane. The membership recommended that Lane discuss this further with GPNJ Treasurer Liz Arnone so as to garner additional information and make an informed decision. Chairman Lane assured us that he would do so. Discussion ensued on Lane and McGill making a formal presentation to the GPNJ Green Council to convene the 2006 State Convention at the Vineland Ramada Inn's Fairmount Room with the CuCGP serving as the host county local.Costs and other factors were discussed.The membership at this time gave a unanimous voice vote of consent for Lane and McGill to pursue this effort.Various fundraising efforts were then discussed.The tabling at Viineland U-Sell Flea Market will go on as planned,the date could be Friday October 7 at a cost of $12 or Saturday October 8 at a cost of $19.The date will be finalized at our August meeting depending on the amount of participation by the membership as a whole.Ken McGill then put forward two excellent fundraising proposals,one would be a pin with the letters "GP" set into a map of New Jersey. This could be distributed at the State Convention with the CuCGP getting a percentage of the receipts.Another proposal put forward by McGill was to commision a painting by a local artists and for the membership to sell tickets with the winning ticket being awarded this "one of a kind" painting. It was recommended that the tickets be sold at a reasonable price of $5 a piece, with the artist being paid a flat fee or possibly a perscentage of the proceeds. Both of these suggestions by McGill were well received by the membership.Another fundraising idea put forward by Gregory Lee Lane was for the membership to pursue the selling of "links" on our website to kindred businesses.This proposal also was enthusiastically received with Raimonde offering to proposition JerseyPolitics.com with an offer of a link for a year at a charge of $25.In other business,Chair Lane said the GPNJ was pursuing a law suit in conjunction with the Libertarian and Conservative Parties to garner State recognition of all three as legitimate state recognized political parties with all the legal status and recognition accorded the Democrat and GOP parties. The cost of this litigation will be approximately $3300 for GPNJ. At this time Raimonde said he had arranged for the Executive Director of The Levoy Theatre to appear on "Get Over It" on Monday, August 8 & GPNJ gubernatorial candidate Matt Thieke will appear on WVLT's call in program "Get over it" from 7-8pm on Monday September 12th. Raimonde advised that Chuck Woodrow who is a candidate for Gloucester County Freeholder would be "calling in" to the program. Chairman Lane chimed in that he would be serving as Thieke's webmaster on a Gubernatorial website that Lane has graciously consented to host.Raimonde said he received a call earlier in the day from the DAILY JOURNAL regarding our continued participation in the forthcoming Community Guide. Raimonde advised that he updated the DJ and gave them our new website address as well as chairman Gregory Lee Lane's info as our main contact person.Raimonde made mention that the DJ only listed Elaine Marstons house as being "on the 1300 block of Goldfinch Lane" in the Region Briefs section but they did include our website and Gregorys home number for further information.Chairman Lane briefly talked about a recent article in the Arts District monthly THE INFERNO saying he would make a reply on our behalf regarding an article entitled "A tale of two back yards" which spoke of CuCGP in less than flattering terms.803pm-Raimonde made a motion to adjourn,second by Elaine Marston,motion carried unanimously.Rich Raimonde-CuCGP recording secretary. Meeting minutes for the Cumberland County Green Party on Thursday August 18,2005 at the South Vineland United Methodist Church.In attendance:Gregory Lee Lane,Ken McGill,George Anderson, John DiOrio,Raven Ahmed,Jules Williams,Roger Merle,Matt Thieke,Rich Raimonde. 630pm-Chairman Lane calls the meeting to order.Lane began by having everyone introduce themselves that were gathered around the table.Raimonde reads the minutes from the June meeting into the record.Discussion,Raimonde volunteers to change date of scheduled Thieke radio interview to correct 9/12/05 date.Raimonde makes motion to approve the amended minutes, second by Ken McGill,motion passed unanimously.At this time Treasurer pro-temp Lane presented a Treasurers Report totaling $349.30 Discussion.Motion to approve by Raimonde,second by McGill,motion passed unanimously.In related business,Lane advised that he had opened an account for the CuCGP at Colonial Bank and had filed an S-4 form registering the CuCGP with the state.At this time Lane informed the membership of Helen and Ed Kallas decision to "step down" from the CuCGP because of Helens declining health.Best wishes were conveyed from the membership to Helen and to thank her for her time and effort through the years. At this time Raimonde recommended a Plaque be purchased to honor Helen Kalla for her years of service as CuCGP Treasurer at a cost not to exceed $25.This suggestion was well received and Raimonde made a motion to pursue this acquisition,second by McGill,motion received unanimous approval.Ken McGill volunteered to look into this purchase.Chair Lane at this time opened up discussion on the flea market to be held in the early fall.Discussion ensued on the proposed dates,lack of participation by the membership and other factors.Raimonde made a motion to move forward with the less costly date of Friday October 7 at the Vineland U-Sell Market at a cost totaling $12,seconded by McGill. Motion carried unanimous approval. Chair Lane then began to "pass the hat".Raimonde made a motion to do so with the proceeds going to the campaign of GPNJ gubernatorial candidate Matt Thieke,seconded by McGill,motion approved unanimously.At this time,Chairman Lane made a brief introduction of Matt Thieke.Thieke immediately threw the discussion to the floor and was open to all questions from those in attendance.An interesting session ensued covering a wide range of topics from alternative energy to schools,state financed spay/neuter programs for pets and taxes in the state of New Jersey.In closing Chairman Lane thanked Thieke as well as Raven and Jules from the Atlantic County Greens for attending this meeting.The next meeeting of the CuCGP will be on Wednesday September 14 at 630pm at the home of Elaine Marston at 1301 Goldfinch Lane in Millville. 837pm- Meeting informally adjourned.Rich Raimonde,CuCGP recording secretary. |
